Melbourne ready for inaugural Enduro-X this weekend

The Grids are full, the gates set, riders are ready and Melbourne is excited for the inaugural Melbourne Enduro-X on Saturday February 4 at the Broadmeadows MX Park. The top riders in the country have confirmed this week that they will be on the starting gate to take out the bragging rights and a pocket full of cash for the opening national event for 2012. All the rocks, logs, tyres and material are taking shape to create a track that will challenge the riders and excite the crowd.

Organisers of the event, Dave and Col Robbins, reported this week that all the hard work in bringing an event of this magnitude together is definitely taking shape.

The racing format is like supercross; with heats, elimination, qualifying and a last chance qualifier to get to the final. It's in the finals where the top 10 in each class will battle it out for the win and the cash.

The classes are: Pro, Expert, Clubman, and Over 35. With each final limited to 10 riders, there are only enough positions in each class for 20 riders total. The winner of the expert class will be eligible to ride in the pro final making that the only race with 11 riders in it. The whole afternoon's racing will climax in the pro final, with the winner taking home the cash and stamping his authority with the first major win of the 2012 season.

With full catering, fully licensed bar facilities, dry area, wheelchair access, toilets, on-site parking, elevated viewing area, full loud speaker systems, and the best commentators in the land in Lee Hogan and Transmoto's Andy Wigan, there are no excuses not to miss it. The event is orientated to family entertainment and the excitement will commence from 11am when the qualifying heats begin.

The event will be professionally filmed with three highstand filming towers around the course and roving cameras. It will be screened on Speed TV, Youtube, and there will be a 30 minute DVD made up after the event.

Location: Broadmeadows MX Park, 434 Mahoneys, Road Campbellfield, Victoria (Behind Pipeworks Market)
Gates open at 10am on Saturday February 4 2012.
Tickets are only available at the gate.
