Ultimate Cape Escape: 2027 Tour Dates

Reckon a 1500km, Cairns to Cape York enduro adventure on board a Husky FE501 belongs on your bucket list? Short of organising the whole circus yourself, here’s an easy – and much more enjoyable – way to tick the experience off. Ultimate Cape Escape’s 2027 calendar just dropped – 11 all-inclusive guided tours, capped at just 14 riders apiece. Each tour includes experienced guides, a completely stocked support truck that meets with riders daily, all fuel, accommodation under the stars, food, flights from Bamaga to Cairns, all permits, park entry fees and ferry crossing fees, plus an Ultimate Cape Escape T-Shirt. THE RIDE

The full Cairns to Cape York itinerary can be found here, but in a nutshell, it’s a six-day ride covering approximately 1500km, from Cairns to the top of mainland Australia; Cape York. You’ll climb the Kuranda Range and thread the rainforest before dropping onto the legendary CREB and Bloomfield Tracks – waterfalls, endless creek crossings, and a well-earned cold one at the Lion’s Den. From there it’s Cooktown, the eerie Black Mountain, and the sandy challenges of the Starcke Track, before the scenery opens out into savannah grasslands and a camp under the stars at Kalpowar Crossing. The middle of the week winds through tight, lesser-travelled trails into Coen and Archer River, then on to Frenchman’s Track and Moreton Telegraph Station.

Day five is the big one: the full length of the Old Telegraph Track, sandstone river crossings end-to-end, with a lunch stop and swim at the picture-perfect Fruit Bat Falls and another at Elliot/Twin Falls, before the Jardine ferry delivers you to an oceanfront camp at Loyalty Beach for sunset. Then the payoff – a final blast of twisting rainforest, an 800m scramble over the rocks, and you’re standing at the most northern point of mainland Australia. Handshakes all round. After that, it’s the spectacular Five Beaches loop at Somerset before you fly from Bamaga back to Cairns that afternoon, grinning.
